Prayer to St. Francis for Lasting Peace & Contentment
Heavenly Father, in Your infinite mercy and boundless love, we come before You with humble hearts. Today we seek the intercession of Your beloved servant, St. Francis of Assisi. Through his life You have shown us the path of peace, simplicity, and joy in Your creation. We ask for the grace to follow his example and embrace the peace & contentment that come from living according to Your holy will.
O Glorious St. Francis,
Patron of peace and lover of all creation,
You who abandoned the luxuries of this world
To find the richness of God’s love in simplicity,
Intercede for us now,
That we may find the lasting peace
Our hearts so desperately seek.
Grant us the wisdom to see beyond the material
And the courage to embrace the spiritual.
Help us to live in harmony with God’s creation,
Recognizing the beauty and wonder in all that He has made.
May we also find the joy in the simple things,
And contentment in the love of our Heavenly Father.
O St. Francis,
Instrument of God’s peace,
Teach us to sow love where there is hatred,
To bring pardon where there is injury,
And to spread faith where there is doubt.
Guide our steps as we strive to be peacemakers in a world
That so often knows conflict and division.
In our daily struggles and trials,
Be our ever-present reminder
That true peace is found not in the absence of difficulties,
But in the presence of God.
Help us to trust in His divine providence,
Knowing that He holds us in the palm of His hand,
And that His plans for us are always for our good.
O Gentle St. Francis,
Whose heart was filled with compassion for all creatures,
Grant us the grace to treat one another with kindness and respect.
May we see the face of Christ in every person we encounter,
And respond to their needs with generosity and love.
Help us to build a community of peace and understanding,
Where all are welcomed and valued as children of God.
Teach us, O St. Francis,
To live simply, so that others may simply live.
May we not be consumed by the pursuit of wealth and possessions,
But instead, seek to store up treasures in heaven.
Help us to be good stewards of the gifts God has given us,
Using them for His glory and the good of others.
In moments of doubt and discouragement,
Turn our hearts to the Lord,
That we may find comfort and strength in His presence.
Help us to remember that we are never alone,
For God is with us, always and forever.
Give us the perseverance to continue on our journey,
Trusting that God will lead us to the peace and contentment we desire.
O Blessed St. Francis,
Example of humility and obedience,
Help us to surrender our will to God’s,
That we may live in perfect harmony with His plan.
Teach us to embrace our crosses with joy,
Knowing that through them, we are united with Christ.
May we, like you, find strength in our weaknesses,
And joy in our sufferings,
As we strive to follow the path of holiness.
Intercede for us, dear St. Francis,
That we may be instruments of God’s peace in our families,
Our communities, and our world.
May we bring the light of Christ to those in darkness,
And the hope of His resurrection to those in despair.
Help us to be faithful witnesses of God’s love,
And to spread the message of peace and contentment wherever we go.
In our moments of joy and celebration,
May we give thanks to God for His many blessings.
And in our times of sorrow and hardship,
May we find solace in His unwavering love.
Help us to live each day with gratitude,
Recognizing the many ways God has been good to us.
And may we share His love and peace with all we meet.
Through your intercession, dear St. Francis,
May we grow in holiness and love,
And come to experience the peace that surpasses all understanding.
May our lives be a testament to God’s love and mercy,
And a reflection of His peace and joy.
