Prayer to Reclaim Your Justice in Unfair Situations
Dearest child, have you ever felt like you where treated unfairly by others around you or life’s circumstances? Perhaps you have even questioned God, how could He have allowed this to happen to you?
Stop for a minute and remember this important fact: our ultimate justice lies not in the hands of man, but in the loving embrace of the Almighty Father.
“Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 5:3-12
The Beatitudes always struck me as very odd when I was first introduced to them. It was a very contrarian way of thinking – blessed are the meek, the poor, the peacemakers. On closer reading and introspection, this profound writing seems reminds us that earthly trials are merely temporary, but our inheritance in Christ is eternal.
Forgiveness Is the True Power
In our modern world, forgiving someone has negative connotations and is often times seen as weak. But the truth is that the act of forgiveness is one of the greatest powers that we can inherit. In fact, it was by this very act that we too were saved by the blood of Christ.
When faced with injustice, the most powerful thing that we can do is to embrace the power of forgiveness. Forgiveness does not mean condoning the wrong, but it frees us from the chains of anger and resentment. As Christ forgave those who crucified Him, we too are called to forgive those who wrong us.
Carrying anger in our hearts merely serves to alienate oneself from God’s promises, but this act of mercy opens our hearts to God’s healing grace.
United with Christ in Suffering
Remember that in our suffering, we are united with Christ, who was Himself betrayed, mocked, and crucified. In His passion, we find a God who intimately understands our pain and offers us a path to redemption and peace.
